The well known TDL4 Rootkit has been deemed indestructible by Kaspersky Labs researcher Sergey Golovanov. He goes on to say that it is “the most sophisticated threat today”

It attaches itself to the MBR or boot portion of the hard drive at sector 0 and remains hidden until it is called upon with instructions on what to do. It is not detectable by any of the store bought anti-virus software’s that are in use by most PC’s today.  You won’t even know you have it installed other than you may notice a slow down in your connection if the botnet decides to take action on a target.  When it does take action, your computer will be a part of the army of about four million PCs that have been infected.

TDL-4 itself downloads and installs other malware as well as gets rid of malware it doesn’t want on the computer. The most popular one that it installs is “Fake Anti-virus” scareware.

Just as LulzSec stops toying around with hacking SQL databases and websites we now have Anonymous back in full swing. They have named their call to worldly justice “AntiSec”, or Anti Security.

Anonymous plans to take action fixing the worlds problems where they feel wrongful censorship is at for starters. For their first trick they once again took over the Tunisian government site and added their own page to replace the official one.

Anonymous has been well known for doing more things on the side of good than the bad LulzSec has been doing for the last 50 days. Still I feel we have a long road of things to come from Anonymous.
